4.19.08 ; I won't be quiet about how pleasantly surprised I am about how many members we have already! Thanks to everyone who's already joined, the staff appreciates it greatly. I'm happy to see that lands are being claimed, and there are even some auditions up! Don't forget to put your's in, if you're looking for one of the board member roles. Alice, Excy and myself will be discussing when we're going to close them (probably upon a certain number of members), so get them in ahead of time. Once again, thanks everyone, don't forget to roleplay, and have fun!
Rules are here. We know nobody really likes them, and yes, we know they are a pain in the butt, but we have to have them for organized civilization! So just read them. 'Sides, the joining password is in them.
Feel the need to rant about how your day was? Did a partyclown steal your skateboard on the way home from school? Want to talk to somebody, or start up a game? Here's the place to do so.
If there is something puzzling you about Cadence, or there is something you just don't understand, and want an answer to, come here. Make sure to reread the rules first before you post your question!
The one and only place you can make characters on Cadence. Your characters do not have to be accepted by a staff member, but if there is something wrong with your post, one will ask you to fix it. The password is in the rules.
If you have more than one character, it's usually a good idea to keep track of them with a thread here that you can add a link to in your signature. This should not be mistaken for an area to create characters.
Does your stallion own a herd? If you need something changed, be it name, description, owner, a thread stickied and locked, or threads moved from the land, this is the place to do it.
Deep within the heart of the gathering lands is a large, adequately sized field, filled with lush, large strands of tan grasses that flow with the simplest breeze. The occasional oak tree rests across the magnificent fields, providing shelter on the hottest of summer days. Mares come here to be claimed.
Near the edge of the Breeding Grove, where the treeline ebbs and lush, tall green grassed start, lies a small nook in the land of Cadence, where mares from any herd come to give birth to their children. Post your horses stats here and staff will give you your foal.
Near the edge of the gathering lands is a large, clearwater creek lined by thick, timeless redwoods. Thick, chocolate-red trunks sprout from the ground, some of them reaching twenty feet in the air. It is said that the trees have been growing since the beginning of time, which is why they are so large. Heavy branches keep the area well shaded and secretive, which makes it a nice place to meet.
Lo'Suna, given its name by the native, ancient equines, simply put means 'desert'. Living up to its name, Lo'Suna was once a large lake that dried up, leaving baren, cracking sands in its wake. Here, there is no shelter from the unrelenting sun, and foliage is restricted to sparse tumbleweeds and the occasional flowering cactus. But if one should dare to wander long enough, there is a small patch of water left in the lowest point of the lake, where sparse, hardy grass grows. Small, fat, thorned trees grow around the watering hole, providing the slightest relief from the blazing sun.
Between Lo'Suna and the furthest reach of the gathering lands is Blackrock, a large, giant rock formation that is said to have been formed by a volcano long since dormant. Here, the sky is rarely blue, as heavy soot and cinder cloud up the air and congest those who bother to breathe it in. The rocks themselves are unstable, and it is not hard to slip on them. Burned trees only add to the forlorn appearance of Blackrock. The burned rock formation towers into what could best be described as a thunderous peak, where the surrounding lands can be surveyed with ease.
Snug within the last stretches of Blackrock rests a pale white stretch of beach. This is the last place where the sun shines on Cadence when the day is through, and is often a hang out for equines wanting to see the sunset. At night, the beach is just as radiant, as its name might suggest. Overhead, the celestial formations are clear as crystal, and if one is lucky, they might see a shooting star.
A large, wooded expanse that runs down from Blackrock, along the Costello Valley, and into the Mainland. It is here, in the secluded, gloomy land, that horses come to die.
Where the mountainous range of the valley meets with Blackrock is the Nook. Still very much part of the little valley, the Nook is home to a series of caverns, ranging from the largest, with chambers that can hold up to thirty equine, to the smallest, where even a foal might have a hard time squeezing in. The caves work their way underground, but it is also rumored that the caverns underground are fragile, and dangerous.
Named after the valley itself, the bowl of the land is a large, spacious area that harbors a small, innocent meadow. Within the meadow, from the mountains that attach themselves to Blackrock, is a small stream that imports fresh snow water into the valley. Surrounding this meadow in a small, asymmetrical semi-circle is another small grove of redwood trees that reach nearly fifteen feet in the air.
Near the brook that bubbles in from the mountains is Crestfall, a large, violent waterfall that empties into the sea. It is composed of freshwater, like the small brook is, and pools in a basin before it dwindles into the sea. Crestfall's many creeks give it a complete system of waterways, which makes reaching the Nook difficult. Although Costello Valley is surrounded by mountains that make the only way in a small stretch of beach near Lunar Shore, Crestfall blocks off the only entrance with it's sharp, powerful streams, making entrance to the valley hazardous for trespassers.
One of the immediate sights in Costello Valley is Lunar Cove, an extension of Lunar Shore. It is a small cove with a short, dwindling cave. Pooling around the cave like a basin is a small tidal reef, which creates a pool of fresh salt water. This is an area utilized for disinfecting oneself should one leave and then return to the disease free walls of Costello Valley.
Located at the basin of a deep valley, it's seclusion is part of it's charm. The edges of the valley are steep and rocky, a discouragement to passers by. But if one is ever fortunate to reach the bottom, the cold rock transforms into lush plains of grass; located so deep that the winds do not stir the air. All that can be heard at such a depth is the pure silence of paradise. A pond can be found at the center of the valley where rain has collected. Large enough for swimming, it is mostly a site to quench ones thirst. The most predominate, stunning feature of this land is probably the striking amount of cherry blossom trees spread throughout the herd land. Besides the brilliant green, the delicate pink hues of the cherry trees stand out in a pale sort of fashion. These trees are also the inspiration for the name of the terrain. Bliss is just one word to describe the beauty of such a place; a little space of peace hidden in the midst of suffering.
A deep forest made up of dogwoods, willows, oaks, and pines. The land is green and lush in warmer seasons, but dull in cooler. Large clearings are spread out around the area, usually surrounded protectively by a wall of briars and thickets. A few thin streams run through the forest, and are easily stepped across. The forest is not to thick, and sunlight still moves down into the underbrush, so grass grows everywhere, though is more lush and full in the clearings. In the early and late hours, a thin fog overlaps the area, but does not obstruct one's vision to badly.

A wide meadow with splatters of trees, the area where the Aylen horses dwell is beaming with pride of it's beauty. The long, green grass provides an excellent food source for the equines in the summer and spring, along with some of the fruit-bearing trees. Water is plentiful in lakes near the middle and edges of the vast meadow, conveniently placed by some samples of forest to give shade as well as water. The winters are long and hard, forcing horses to often eat bark of the trees or to dig up grass from the ground, but other than that, this area is close to paradise.
